Rebecca Ashton works as an editor at a scientific publishing house.

Her background includes a journalism degree, and she was previously an investigative journalist at a newspaper.

Rebecca became an avid Jane Austen fan after watching a few adaptations 30 years ago, when she was a student. Shortly after, she joined a couple JAFF forums and wrote a few stories.

After several years’ break due to her work commitments and personal life, Rebecca returned to writing JAFF stories, this time focusing on full-length novels.

The Way It Ought to Be is her first published novel.
